For those with smaller sums of money, [multi-managers] offer access to a diversified portfolio that would otherwise be hard to access.

It's rarely a case of assets taking precedent. Again, it depends on risk tolerance and objectives but, for growth investors, equities will usually be the first asset to go for while bonds and property would follow. Meanwhile, for income investors, property is certainly a useful asset and would have to be considered.

I expect the market to do fairly well in the near term, especially as portfolio managers move money out of bonds back into equity. Then things will kind of flatten out.

It is quite clear from our conversation with a significant number of portfolio money managers in the past three to four weeks that Asian and European moneys are lightening up on TIP [Thailand Indonesia and the Philippines] markets and venturing into Malaysia aggressively.

I think we've seen technology take a tumble a number of times and come right back. Most professional money managers look at a technology slump as a buying opportunity.

Retail investors are value-hunting now. The asset managers and any institutions with money are starting to come back in.
