For years, the poor, poor people of Los Angeles county were between a rock and a hard place of having to buy insurance, but not being able to afford it.

When large numbers of poor families started showing up in the central valley of California, and also in Los Angeles, at a time when the federal government was providing very little assistance, then the burden of caring for those new residents fell to those towns and cities, and sympathy dried up pretty quickly.

To those people whose main goal or mission it is to come to Los Angeles and engage in criminal activity, to engage in decadent behavior, our message is to them: It is not going to be tolerated.

We understand why people want to associate with Los Angeles. It's such a great place. But they're not here. They're in Orange County. It's not truth in advertising.

People figure because I'm blonde and was a model, I just waltzed into Los Angeles and got major roles in major films.

We appreciate the offer, but Los Angeles is not under consideration.
