Gas prices are getting astronomical. I remember the days when it was a dollar a gallon. I try my best to be fuel efficient, but I'm honestly scared.

When gas prices go up 5 cents a gallon, that's maybe an extra $10 a week out of consumers' pockets. But when they're going up 15 cents and more, it means $20 extra a week.

Prices are high, there is no incentive to hold [gas] back. If you have a gallon of gas, you want to get it out in this market.

When gas is $3 a gallon the retailer is responsible for about 4 percent of the cost, but they are getting 100 percent of the abuse.

The next two days, gas prices went nuts.

There is no way that increased gas prices at the pump could have been reflected in two days after the hurricane with spikes of 30 to 50 cents per gallon, ... It is shameful and unconscionable that these oil companies are making profits off people's misery with this hurricane.
