Getting people stranded on their rooftops to safety is a priority. We want to get people out because the water is contaminated.

People need to take this very seriously and get to a safe area while they can.

(But) for people that purchase fireworks outside the city, we recommend some safety tips.

People in the middle are sort of treading water. People at the lower end are still falling behind.

The department obviously has a concern about the safety issues, as well as the snowmobile going into the water and fuel seepage. But for now there are no plans I know of to ban skipping.

The primary issue, of course, is safety.
