Gift-giving has evolved from something wonderful to ... anxiety. It's as if we're stuck with the ritual without the meaning and joy.

What you give meaning to is what causes your emotion. Before you react know why you are giving something so much energy or fear. When you begin to understand why you give things meaning you can begin to change how you react and why you do what you do.

It comes from service. It is by giving our lives away that we find meaning, because that's the way we're wired, I believe, by God.
