God's Word makes it very clear that the state of our hearts determines the quality of our "listening ears.

Did you ever read the Bible? I mean sit down and read it like it was a book? Check out Lamentations. That's where we're at, pretty much. Pretty much lamenting. Pretty much pouring our hearts out like water.

Listen for the whisper in everything because that is God speaking.

God is same yesterday, today, tomorrow and for evermore. People can change what ever they want. There is a reason why God gave us guidelines, for our own benefit. You break them, and bring things on yourself... then don't blame God. At the same time, I believe God is such a loving God, and will still be willing to restore people.

God resides in compassionate hearts. Stay close to them.

I guess my experience with God had to be without external influences because I certainly wasn't listening to anyone but my selfish self.
