Having children makes you see the world in a completely different way. When you're responsible for those little lives, you can't slough it off or forget about it until later.

I expected it to be overwhelming and all-encompassing, but having a kid brings you into the world in a whole different way.

Literature is mostly about having sex and not much about having children. Life is the other way round.

When you're in your 20s, you're a little more carefree; you're single. You have a very different way of looking at the world and experiencing the world. But later in your 30s, when you have children, a career, career obstacles, mortgages, car payments and relationships, you have to negotiate; that's a very different life.

I do see the world as being different for girls - especially now, having daughters.

Having children with someone is the real bond.
