The danger in coming back at that is you're repeating it. Now, what you may try to do is come back and put it all into context. But that has its risk.

If they come away from your opening statement confused, you're in big trouble for the rest of the trial.

Closing arguments may be the most fun and the most dramatic, but opening statements are in many ways more important. Most research shows jurors have made up their minds long before the closing arguments.
