He did everything we asked that his physical abilities would allow. He'll play. We have the flexibility to play players at other positions.

It was the defense over pursuing to a play and a skill player making a play. It was more of individuals making a play than scheme or design.

The rule is different in the NFL. And is drastically different this year (in the NCAA). Last year it was the same (as the NFL). This year, the way that rule is interpreted in the game Saturday at Vanderbilt - the rule is drastically different.

Because of the uniqueness of the 3-3 and the inordinate amount of pressure, we didn't run some of the plays that we think we can run as base plays in our offense. It was not a lack of desire to do things. We have a strong directive from the head coach to what he wants to do and what he feels is best for the team. We're going to do that.

The pain of the loss diminishes anything positive that came out of that game. But ... you have to realistically step back and look at some of the things you did good. Both guys have come out of nowhere ... hopefully that'll give us a spark.

(Finch) has been one of our most consistent performers. He can pitch, catch, play first and gives us some flexibility.
