He is truly one of this community's assets. There are a lot of people out there who have plans and ideas, but he's someone who translates those ideas into action.

He's always looking out for the community. Looking at the long-range issues that affect the rest of us.

It's a very uncomfortable position, in light of the fact that we've temporarily laid off 40 people.

The governor has hired a mediator –– who is a very nice guy –– to talk to people. And for a number of weeks, he wasn't talking to people. But now he's re-engaged.

We are told a lot of high-tech companies are interested in putting offices or allowing people to live in a certain town only if you have that capability. I think attracting high-tech industry is going to be our future. That's a first step we have to have.

The people who spoke before, we do have a record of that, it's sworn testimony. Unless they have something brand new to say, we really need to limit (the public comment time). We don't need any philosophical comments. It has to be pertinent to what's being requested.
