He seemed all right with [the decision to retire]. He didn't sound disappointed or sad about it. It surprised me -- I still think he can play. People write him off already. Last year was a bad situation when he injured himself.

If this is the end of his playing career, they'll think of the last couple years that he had, and they were down years. They'll forget all about the numbers he put up. They'll remember the negatives and the scandals and the corked bat.

He brought a lot of energy. I was in awe, just the way he worked. He prepared himself so well. He would hit extra in the cage -- he amazed me. He was one of those guys who you watched and you appreciate how good he is. Until you see him day in and day out, you don't recognize how good he was.

I'll make the right decision, whichever one it is. I have to be 100 percent, not 95 or 99.

I think that's right if we get started soon. Time's a-wasting. It appears they're getting close to a decision here. It's still reasonable, given that we could be using components in place today and you could fly a test flight within a couple of years without too much trouble.

It hasn't been easy for him but as far as we are concerned it is the right decision.
