He started hauling black dirt and manure for people's gardens pretty much as a hobby. It ended up a family business.

We began building roads, highways and developments, basically from Duluth to the Twin Cities.

That was really our first big job, the one that started us off. We had to lease trucks to get the job done.

Due to family reasons, I'm pretty much tied to Southern California for the foreseeable future. We can't move up there. It only makes sense to pass it on to somebody else.

He drives, he gardens, he sees friends and family. We're lucky he had early diagnosis and got early treatment to stave it off.
