He throws the ball 90 miles an hour. We just need him to throw strikes. If he can throw strikes, he'll be devastating out there on the mound.

When you can throw 97 miles an hour and put the ball over the plate anytime you want, it's fun.

He's got the potential to be a pretty decent pitcher. He throws strikes, throws the ball hard. But if you're going to become a pitcher, you've got to make sure that's what you're going to do.

He throws four pitches for strikes, he keeps the ball down, gets a lot of ground balls and he's a strikeout pitcher. He's got a lot of innings pitched in the minor leagues and ... he has developed the consistency that's needed to pitch at this level. We feel it's important he get his feet on the ground up here (in St. Louis) for the time in the future when he's a starter.

I think if I stay healthy, I'll be okay. Now that I don't throw 94 or 95 miles per hour anymore, my slider is basically my best pitch. They pretty much know I'm 39, so I'm not a young guy anymore.

It can't be a real significant injury because it's hard to believe somebody can throw 98 miles an hour and have a serious arm problem. He hasn't had any discomfort at all. He hasn't had any complaints since going to the 'pen.
