I think it's an award he would have really cherished. He tried to act like it didn't mean much, but I think he would have really cherished it.

We did a nationwide survey of tapes to find someone who could step in and do baseball when I was gone, and Bill was the guy we selected. It was obvious sooner or later that he would be doing his own thing. The broadcast business has lost a good one. It's just a shame.
