He was kind of his own guy. It was like, 'He's from the ghetto, he's going to be this. He's going to be that.' But he's one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

You see, I was born in the slums, that was before the ghetto. The ghetto was kind of refined; the slums was right there on the ground.

He kind of scooped up a pile of offensive linemen and just started shaking everybody until the guy with the ball fell out. It was like a cartoon.

[Sugar] Ray Leonard is the kind of guy who's always looking at the edge of the cliff, fascinated as to how close he can get to it. He hasn't gotten to the edge yet.
