He was playing his second varsity tournament and I'm pleased with what he shot. We played OK (as a team). I'd like to have played a little better at home ... we won and shot a team qualifying score, so we did some good things.

I was in awe of playing on that (1955) team,

I wasn't pleased with the way we played in the second half. It seemed like we just got complacent. You can't do that in this conference. We won the game and everybody's happy, but if you do that against Southern or Grambling, they'll be back in the ballgame on you.

Plateau Valley was a good, scrappy team, and I was very pleased with how we came out and played the first half. We really stepped up.

He's going to be OK, but that was a shot.

(The penalty) was a misunderstanding on the second hole. I was pleased with the way I played. I didn't shoot lights out but I'm happy to be going to districts again. It's nice a teammate (Karsten Reis) made it too so I won't be going alone. Overall, I'm pretty pleased.
