He's a very smart, very bright kid, so we knew he could quarterback the defense, ... We felt he could run pretty darn well, and if he would hit somebody, which we thought he would because we watched him block as a fullback, that he could pick it up pretty fast. And the rest is history.

Both teams played great defense tonight. This was a game that went back and forth.

We just talked a little bit. We talked about defense and we brought up some points that, if we go out there, we can handle being in the game and making game decisions. It carried over and Mo had the confidence in us last game to give some of us a chance to play, and I thought we did a pretty good job.

She's a great shooter, but she played great defense, too. She played the top of our triangle-and-two defense and was critical in shutting down their guards.

That definitely had a lot to do with how we came out on defense. We've been focusing on that since we came out really slow in that game. We wanted to get out and play defense today and that's what we did.

Our half-court defense is still our staple. That's what we are. We want to make the game hard for the other team. It's hard to run plays when you can switch and do the things we do.
