Homicides are never pleasant. As you become a seasoned officer, though, you become less personal about it. You start seeing it as more scientific.

These are senseless deaths in my personal opinion, ... I can't think of any reason I could give for these homicides.

Every year, I've gotten a letter from the state treasurer's office that says I can retire when I have 30 years of credible service or when I turn 55.

My first big challenge, and I knew that from the word go, was going to be to get citizen support and trust back toward the agency. How can you expect someone to trust you when you have the high sheriff himself being arrested? I had to build some trust and faith in this office from the people.

I was impressed by him. He was very professional.

I'm going to miss the job. When something's been a part of your life for so many years and now all of a sudden you're not doing it anymore, of course you're going to miss it.
