Howard was the one we expected so much from. In a controlled scrimmage against Florida State, (FSU) coach Leonard Hamilton predicted he would make the All-Big East freshman team. Two days later Howard was lost for the season.

They brought the blitz, they got in the backfield, they really controlled the line of scrimmage, ... They did a good job of containing our running game.

We're determined to turn this thing around. If we could get one of these [wins] but if we don't hurry up and get one, there won't be one after that to get. That's kind of where we are.

They were physically more aggressive. They were one of the more physical teams we've played. More than any game we've played in the conference, in the second half it showed.

(Florida coach Urban Meyer ) was here to see him last Thursday. Florida State called (Monday). They didn't offer but they wanted film. He's so fast. That's what separates him. He moves his feet as well as anybody on the team. Then, he has all the size.

My hats off to Coach Tarver and the Howard coaching staff. They have done a great job. We had some breaks go our way. I am happy for our kids, they have worked hard and it paid off for them.
