I actually think the (U.S.) ambassador's intervention was inappropriate... I don't think foreign ambassadors should be expressing their views, or intervening in an election.

I think the U.S. ambassador is way out of line,

The question shouldn't be what we ought to do, but what we can do.

I like the position we're in. I think we're ready for an election. I think we've got the members, the money and candidates and the support we need to have an election at any time.

I think in Atlantic Canada, because of what happened in the decades following Confederation, there is a culture of defeat that we have to overcome.

Obviously we would expect the head of state to be a supporter of the state. I don't think there should be any doubt about that
