I almost retired two years ago. Most of these kids were sophomores at the time. I just wanted to stay. We've had two successful years since.

All these kids were around wearing face paint. The common thread is character and heart. It comes from the town. They've seen other kids do it and know what it takes. It's a very close-knit town and community.

We'd like to go back and work on it a little bit more, but it's gone now. We feel like we should have won. We weren't overmatched. River Dell just played a great game and came back to beat us.

You can guard them for so long. But sooner or later she'll pop out. And we lost track of her.

I think the tradition of both schools has something to do with the consistency, and the community and parental support definitely has something to do with it.

The girls were not that excited when they won the sectional title. I think they want to take it to the next level, I don't think they're satisfied.
