I am disappointed that the Democratic leader Harry Reid has apparently urged his colleagues to vote no on this nomination. ... I think it may affect votes on the floor to make this a leadership issue.

I will not vote for - and no senator should vote for - anyone who will not render justice impartially.

If we're going to vote on extraneous amendments that our Democrat colleagues want to vote on, then I want to vote on amendments that I think will benefit the country,
