I am drawn to projects that can become unique gems. I see good bone structure here.

This is like other several other master plan projects. Phase 1 is determining existing conditions, what the public is envisioning and gaining input from the public.

We will take that to the next level and pull together dozens of major open-source projects, and do full analysis of those code bases.

Most of these projects are community-based. We try to give a name that helps personify the community in which we're building.

We have been looking at Hertz for more than three years and believe it fits squarely within our investment strategy — a complex corporate divestiture of a market-leading business with a powerful franchise and opportunities for profitable growth.

People ask me when I start one of these projects, what is your theme? I haven’t the faintest idea. That’s why you’re writing the book, it seems to me, to find out. To me, it’s a journey. It’s an adventure. It’s traveling in a country you’ve never been in and everything is going to be new, and because of that, vivid. And don’t make up your mind too soon. Let it be an experience.
