Look at the Quakers - they were excellent business people that never lied, never stole; they cared for their employees and the community which gave them the wealth. They never took more money out than they put back in.

If I can't do something for the public good, what the hell am I doing?

People say that I am always serious and depressing, but it seems to me that the English are never serious - they are flippant, complacent, ineffable, but never serious, which is sometimes maddening.

I'm still very much a West Virginia boy. I haven't forgotten my roots, because that's really who I am.
