I asked him why and he wouldn't tell me. We had to find someplace else pretty fast. With the help of our supporters, we raised a little over $140,000 in 45 days to move.

With rents being what they are and threatening to go up, we knew the best solution was to eventually purchase our building. We could also get the facility next to us so that we could increase our overall space. That's why the campaign has been started now before the option ends.

By giving these kids the opportunity to express themselves through art, their self-esteem is raised and they feel proud of what they've accomplished. The kids are really happy to be there.

Not only will we be able to stay here, but we will be able to expand our programs and serve even more children. We have between 40 and 50 children on the waiting list right now and it's our commitment to open our doors a little wider.

But it doesn't help this year's seniors out. They're a pretty good group and they should have gotten a better deal.

It's pretty exciting. Going to Kansas City, a place I am familiar with, should help with the transition. This has always been a goal of mine. After dreaming about it as a high school player, and now seeing it come true, is just unbelievable.
