I believe right now we have too many hotels in the city that are competing with one another. We need to find a way to fill those rooms.

They have a mission, and that is trying to make some changes in council in response to the George Wallace situation. They keep fanning the fires of some flames that we need to put out. We need to move Hampton ahead.

This race is nonpartisan, so people should be looking at the qualifications. But that's not a consideration with these groups. They're pretty dogmatic.

In the beginning, the only benefit it really had was the right to upgrade. But since [Microsoft] has added so many new benefits over the years, many more people are looking at it now.

He just wants a respectable deal to play under for the years to come, and right now we are not at that point with Minnesota. With the right to match, the urgency isn't there, and that is understandable from a business aspect.

We have to understand that we're not playing for right now; we're playing for the long haul. It's important to be patient. It will come.
