I believe there was a pretty clear understanding in the Senate Education meeting that public hearings would be held before making any decision about changing the date of the test. To do this to citizens completely undermines the credibility of the process.

What has become clear to you since we last met ?

I commend the Senate for its work passing an excellent tidelands bill, ... This bill brings a level playing field to all casinos, whether they are over the water or on dry land, and ensures that the tidelands program will continue to improve the quality of life on the Coast.

[The president promised to work to eliminate the special education funding provision.] The Senate ... passed an amendment that would allow local school districts to completely opt out of class size reduction, ... The Senate used this bill to undermine one of our most important educational achievements.

(The Senate) passed the proposed Conceptual Framework for revision of general education. This means that further development and working out of details can occur. Much more still needs to be worked out.

I don't anticipate the Senate will leave it intact.
