I caught my back spike a little bit, just tossing the ball in there, and I said, 'Oh, my gosh.' ... But I didn't think about it during the game at all. I was thinking about throwing strikes.

We want to have some fun, too, because it's Spike and the nature of the genres we're honoring.

I threw the ball real well warming up in the bullpen. And then I go to the mound, I lost all feel [for the ball]. It was terrible. I don't know what that was. It was bad.

They hit six guys, we hit one guy and we're the ones getting suspended. It seems a little bit unfair. But at the same time, we understand they're trying to keep the game under control and keep somebody from getting hurt.

But the ball is in their court. They've got to prove to us that they can do this without impacting the community the way they have in the past.

It was a 50-50 ball that came off the keeper, ... I saw it and went all out for it, and just hoped it would go in.
