I certainly endorse his policies and his approach, using possibly citizens and National Guard,

We need the National Guard on this border immediately, ... The safety of citizens is at risk.

[The October project will take the same approach as down south.] We pull up in our trucks, set up lawn chairs and pull out the binoculars, ... If we observe anything, we report it to the Border Patrol and local law enforcement. No contact, no taking the law into our own hands.

I think we've clearly been the catalyst that has sparked the national debate. That's been our goal, to bring national attention to the fact that the government has failed miserably to bring control to the southern border.

The north is still a threat to national security. There are 1,000 border patrol agents to cover a 4,000-mile northern border. It's an outrage. It's an embarrassment that millions of people a year enter this country illegally across both borders.

Certainly, as with everything else, we're only able to cover a small portion of the border. The state and federal government have bought up most of the land around the border. I suspect that's why we'll never get control of the border.
