I could probably find evidence of grinding or clenching on almost everybody who comes in.

We teach them to be more aware of what they're doing, like clenching their teeth or biting pencils.

Tell him that the book he keeps by his bed was written by an invisible deity who will punish him with fire for eternity if he fails to accept its every incredible claim about the universe, and he seems to require no evidence what so ever.

The theory behind the paper is that actual chewing stimulates a neuronal and hormonal reflex that helps to awaken the gut. Certainly, there's a great deal of appeal to that theory.
