I could see stealing bread and milk if your children were hungry, ... But these people are scum.

I so desperately miss the children on our block. I so desperately miss the wonderful people on the block. I miss the people I don't like on my block!

People who would never buy otherwise decide they might as well get in the game.

If we don't get gasoline to keep our water system running, then we're going to ask people to leave town, ... Our critical need is gas. We've had three incidents of looting because we can't patrol like we need to because there's no gasoline for our police cars.

I don't dislike them, nor do I like them. I've never understood why one must love children simply because they are children. I don't love people because they are people; in fact, I rarely like any people at all. If a child is somehow deserving of admiration, I certainly won't deny it, but why hand it out like candy on Queen's Day?

It was really hard to see the children. They were so skinny and dirty. They had little clothing and you could see their ribs. It was very emotional for me.
