I don't want to be typecast as the 'ambient guy' or someone who only does electronic scores. I think most of the work that comes my way is because people feel they know me musically.

I have to feel myself doing what's right. If I'm the arbiter of that instead of letting the guy on TV be that or someone who doesn't know me at all, then I think that's a much better way to live.

I think insecurity does drive people. I know it's what drove me to push for the work I've got.

And if people do like me, I think it's because I'm a stand-up guy.

Inevitably, I think the people that want to work with me are also the people that I want to work with.

It's not only imagination, it's the distortion of the vision. You suddenly think, This person is idealistic, this person is strong, this person has dreams, when you know better most of the time. You put what you want to see on people.
