I don't even think I've made the finals in the U.S. Open. It's just been a cursed event for me. I didn't really want to come. I was nervous because last time I hurt my knee when I was here. ... To overcome all that, and to actually win it, it's insane.

I think the U.S. Open was the best in many years, with (Andre) Agassi making the finals. The problem is accessibility. They need to improve on that part. They aren't making enough effort to show their personality. They have gone in the wrong direction for too long and need to improve.

Every time I've had a bad performance at an event, I've come back more determined and focused.

Skateboarding is training, but I don't think of it as training. It's fun.

I think fans can tell if you just slap a skateboarder on a game - you can't fool kids.
