I don't know if it's going to work, but we need help.

This is a time for all of us to do as much as we can to help the courageous survivors of this unimaginable catastrophe which has impacted so many people's lives over such a large area of our country, ... Marilyn, Billy and our entire team are all grateful to be able to work with Feed the Children and to be of service.

I don't think there is one member of this council -- not one -- who would be influenced by a meal. I truly believe the character, the integrity, of this council is above that.

Take away her being black and her being female, she's still a great choice.

We're a diverse community, and we need diversity represented on the bench.
