I don't see John Roberts reaching out and having to confront and pronounce on that issue unless he must.

I accept there is an issue which we have to confront.

Confront somebody with an issue before it becomes a conflict. Confrontation is not all bad.

I knew in advance what they were going to say about John Roberts. They were going to say that he was a threat to these rights. That he was out of the mainstream, and they said that before they had ever researched his record. Doesn't matter.

The whole performance was just so elegant. I was impressed that his arguments were simple, clear, succinct and to the point.
