I don't think the Fed are going to signal any kind of pause in rate increases next week. There's no reason the dollar can't continue to benefit from the rate advantage.

As for the Fed, we look for 50 (basis points, a half-percentage point) next week.

There are shifting expectations on whether the Fed will pause or not after its meeting next week. Signals from the Fed that it may pause in June may see a bid for Treasuries.

Motorists might see prices stabilize over the next week or two, but that could only be a temporary pause.

When you stop and think about it, if the Fed were to pause, what does it actually do for anybody ... in the afflicted Gulf region? At this point they're more concerned with basic food and shelter and not really comparison-shopping for mortgages.

If the Fed doesn't at least hint that a pause could be on the way, I think that would surprise the market.
