I don't think the flag is going to come down. That's not in the cards. It's unpredictable at this point how it will go. Right now it's an outstanding violation, but compromises can always be made.

The flag went up very fast, in violation of historic district laws. I'm not sure how it happened. But all this fervor could have been prevented. Unfortunately, people focused on the flag, not the issue of the procedures. Our procedures are no less important than any other board or commission.

I think FEMA is stretched, but the response is good at this point. This storm did something very unpredictable by turning. It was an unprecedented deal here.

It's not a flag I look at (as) anything favorable.
