I favor development in a responsible way, where development pays for itself, is well planned and long-term goals set.

It's a tough and difficult situation. It affects a very minor group of employees. If we're going to do this we need to be as fair and equitable as possible.

I've tried to argue the fact that experience and direction and track record are valuable assets. I clearly have some background that she doesn't, but that's part of my argument, that it would take a lot of time for someone to get up to that point.

Now that I'm 50 and respectably settled in New England and markedly happier and more contented than I was in my youth, I modestly hope there's time to realize some of my youthful goals before I croak, but I'll take what I can get.
