I feel that women stay in coaching for a shorter amount of time than their male counterparts for several reasons. Women tend to weigh the pros and cons of an extra job regarding the amount of satisfaction they get from the job.

Obviously, it's the women who are the 'mothers' who will stay home to take care of their young. Spoken like a true biology teacher, huh?

I think that ego is a larger driving force for men then women and quitting is considered a weakness in the male world.

We're just trying to stay confident and humble at the same time. It's a lot more fun. This pace is what I like to play, and we have the athletes and shooters to do what Coach Pearl wants to do.

They're like the mirror of myself - I've got both male and female counterparts. I'm really happy to be playing in a band that appeals to people who I feel I could honestly be friends with. It's a luxury, I believe, not many bands enjoy. It certainly spurs me on.

I'd rather stay out of the limelight until I've done something I feel proud of.
