I got my heart broken, in softball terms. It just got to the point where it wasn't fun anymore. I really struggled with playing time the past three years.

One thing I did was stop thinking so much. I'm just going out there and swinging the bat.

I almost didn't come back [for my senior year]. But I realized I don't hate the game of softball.

To see a teammate put her heart on the floor like that is really touching. We struggled a little when she was out and when she came back in, it really shifted the momentum.

I wanted teddy bears from Build-A-Bear Workshop, because when you make them, you put a heart in them. It makes them really lovable. I knew they would make someone feel loved.

I did it for the betterment of the children in the community. Camp is something constructive, fun and safe for kids to do. And, of course, it's affordable. A lot of the kids, because of income, are constricted. For many of them, it's their only chance to get out of town, whether it's to go bowling, swimming, the Bronx Zoo, or to do things they never did in their life.
