I grew up upper-class. Private school. My dad had a Jaguar. We're African-American, and we work together as a family, so people assume we're like the Jacksons. But I didn't have parents using me to get out of a bad situation.

I didn't do school plays... I've never done a play in my life, actually. Not even a nativity. If I'd been in a school play, I'd probably have sneezed and messed everything up.

I'm a very private person. My life story isn't for everybody.
