I had to go for it and try to go for a birdie or, best part, eagle, ... Then he puts the ball on the green on 17 and it was over.

Once I got to the 11th green, I saw D.T. had made birdie at 10 and 11 and drew within one. I told Steve (Williams) that I needed to bury this putt and see if we can get some kind of cushion.

As golfers, we rationalize everything. You hit a bad shot and think, 'I can make birdie from there.' That's how you're supposed to think. You should always try and look at the glass as half full. But any time your parents aren't doing well and their health isn't where it could be and you think it should be, it's always tough. Everyone has to deal with that at some point in time in their life and unfortunately, right now it's our time.

I figured if I could birdie 17 and 18 and post a number I would at least have some kind of a chance.

If I can make an eagle there (on 17) and then birdie 18, he's going to feel some heat. You've got to make those when you're in contention. But I was injured (elbow inflammation) and didn't even know if I was going to play so I'm happy with my performance.

I was four back there and he made (two) bogeys, ... On 10, I hit the best putt I hit all day and it doesn't go in, and his goes in and that's a big swing there.
