I have a passionate, conservative feeling for the citizens that when I spend their dollar, I want to be spending it wisely and not just throwing it away. This city hasn't had fiscal responsibility for some time.

Through not spending enough we spend too much

We need to remind citizens that rabies is always present, especially in raccoons. Raccoons know when it is trash night in every neighborhood. They adapt to the environment. They have become real adept at looking for food, including foraging for pet food. That's where attacks can happen.

I'll be there first thing when they open tomorrow morning, ... I consider Mr. Lehmann a personal friend of mine, but I will beat Mr. Lehmann head-up.

We spend two to three hundred million dollars in capital improvements for sewers from our capital spending plan. A lot went into the sewers in Southeast Queens over the last decade and there are plans for more work to be done. We are doing a lot to alleviate the flooding, but we have to do more.
