I have never received an award or honor that will be more cherished than this because it was given by my peers. The former winners are a distinguished collection of some of the finest sports writers in American history. To be included in that group is humbling and overwhelming. I hope that my future work will prove that I am indeed worthy. I will strive to live up to the honor.
