I haven't been silent. I teach, I lecture at universities, I write, I'm not silent.

Occasionally I write a small piece or the odd lecture in English, and I teach in English, but my fiction is always written in German.

I write my programs primarily for myself.

I write my music.

I write in the studio.

So, I am independently well-off and don't have to do anything, but I still do. I write books, lecture around the world, work with scientists and governments.
