I hope you're representing the devil's advocate.

People have confused playing devil's advocate with being intelligent.

You can do anything, literally, right? That's one of the exciting possibilities of the present.

You can read everybody. It's not even interesting to tell the truth because to some extent it's false.

Everybody is supposed to make a contribution. That's something we try to advocate and preach. We don't want anybody to be able to focus in on one or two or three ballplayers. I want everybody to be worried about everybody we have on the floor.

You don't help people in your poems. I've been trying to help people all my life - that's my trouble.
