I knew it was going to be close. It was a good race. It would have been nice to watch.

It was awesome, exciting. It was pressure coming into the race, the eyes of the nation were on me.

It's happened to me a couple of times now: People go nuts when I'm at that stage in the race.

The superstars have landed. This is a clear sign that the Democrats know how important this Senate race is. They want to leave nothing to chance.

During my lifetime I have dedicated myself to this struggle of the African people. I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.

I was about to cry. It's exciting that I got first. I would have been thrilled to be in the top three.
