I like the gospel music and the idea of getting people together. It's just a good community event. It's soul weekend, that's what's so beautiful about it.

There's a disconnect between music heritage and the history of the community. It falls through the cracks.

Music and the arts are not just something to make people feel good. They elevate the soul and broaden the entire personality. It's easy to say they aren't needed because culture seems intangible. But not having it deprives young people of a cultural heritage.

I think there is some real benefit to the community when people are able to go and enjoy some music who would not be able to otherwise enjoy it.
