I like to involve the community into the school.

The best part (of my job) is the positive interaction with kids. Traditionally the assistant principal is the disciplinarian, but I'm changing the role here. I'm bringing a negative connotation to a positive connotation.

It's helped to be a teacher for 25 years. Because as an administrator, when I make a decision, I think of the consequences as a teacher and it helps with the decision.

We knew the alumni of Atlanta High School were loyal to the high school and the community, but the donations were above and beyond what we expected. We got anything from less than $5 to over $100, and every bit mattered.

We need something to keep the community informed of what's going on at the school. It doesn't have to be big and flashy, just something to communicate all the things the high school does.

This is a big thing for the (school) community, the town — everybody.
