I like to think that I'm not as ominous in real life.

One thing viewers will be reminded of, the stakes are very high on this island. It's always life and death. They may have been lulled into a sense of security in the past few episodes. That may change again soon.

In what we call "real life"--if you want to be successful, if you want to get on in the longterm--you always have to come to some kind of compromise with your own emotions: I can't overreact NOW! I have to accept THIS! I have to ignore THAT!--You're forever having to tailor your emotions to the circumstances, you go easy on the people you love, you slip into your hundred little daily roles, you juggle, you balance, you weigh things up so as not to jeopardize the entire structure, because you yourself have a stake in it.

I think art is more glorious than life but not more real.

I don't think I really invented anybody. I have drawn on real life.

I really like Jin. I don't think he's the hard, stern character that he was initially laid out to be. I think he's very complex. I think he's very human.
